I am thrilled beyond words to welcome you to the Faythe Publishing, Inc. website and blog! This has been about a three year process beginning with a pitch to establish a creative writing class at Newton High School (Newton, Kansas). The catalyst was teaching poetry and students asking me if they could write more. (I suppose that is a positive outcome from our time with COVID.)
More and more students had their works published which helped make the writing class come to fruition. Over 92% of the students that first year had poems authorized for publication! Of course, once we experienced our first tastes of success, we wanted more. Soon we expanded our focus to flash fiction pieces, short stories, comics, and novels. By this time, my classes began creating anthologies. Students created the titles and the book covers. Other students wanted to make their own books. I received a flood of emails with novel ideas, requests for proofing, and brainstorming sessions.
Now with the help of KDP Publishing our wishful words are now tangible. All of our books are available on Amazon. Proceeds are now going to building scholarship opportunities.
The unalome symbol on our logo is something near and dear to my heart. While sacred to many circles, I love representation of an individual's journey. The sprial represents the beginning of a journey, kind of like an intense brainstorming session. Then there are twists and turns. I equate this to a juicy plot twist - or the ups and downs of one's life. After this, one reaches clarity and alignment. (I'm so glad this metaphor is working!) Finally, one reaches enlightenment or understanding.
Although I am not promising enlightenment to any of my authors, donors, or supporters, I am promising an enriching journey.
